Play a short phrase and pause, or pick an opening. For each note of the answer, the model gets nine possible moves and returns a probability for each one. The app draws a note and keeps your rhythm. Then switch to Google's A.I. Duet model or to what Bach wrote next.
Recorded model answers for the listed openings. Your own phrase uses local counts, with no model call.
Answer
How does it compare with Google's?
The phrase pairs come from 33 chorales. The charts score each model alone, on the same notes. Spinda Large (decision-model-large) gets 24 similar Bach tunes and how often Bach's melodies make each move; Jev (jev-1.13.0, a development model) gets 96 similar tunes; Google's attention_rnn, the model behind A.I. Duet, gets the notes. No model uses the move counts alone, counted on other chorales. On this page each model's odds are mixed with the same counts, and the answer stays within a fifth of your range. Predicting Bach's next note is not the same as sounding better.
