01 / Game AI · Controller replays
The model picks the plan.
The controller hits the frame.
A decision model chooses one plan, such as a short hop with a neutral air. A controller then presses the buttons frame by frame. These replays use recorded Melee game state to compare the previous controller with the current one in the same situations.

Each replay is real game state recorded from Melee: positions, animations, damage and the controller inputs that produced them, drawn here as simple shapes rather than game graphics. The plans were chosen by scripted test fixtures, not by a model, so these replays show the controller, not model skill. A result counts only where the controller sends exactly the recorded inputs; otherwise the replay marks the first frame that differs.
